The Sheffield City Jail is located on the premises with the police department. Inmates may receive a maximum of 2 visitors within one weekly visit. Visits may only be on Tuesday-Friday, and the visitor must be on a preapproved list. The visitor must also schedule the visit in advance with the Jail Administrator.
The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office is the larger police department in the area and is located in Tuscumbia. Frank Williamson is the sheriff. Divisions within the sheriff’s office include administration, criminal investigations, drug task force, jail, and K-9.

The Colbert County Jail is located on 4th Street, and the Jail Administrator is Marcus Rutland. The jail typically houses over 100 inmates at any given time. Visitation is on Sundays from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. Each inmate is allowed one 15-minute visit.
