Atmore is a city in southern Alabama, near the Florida border, in Escambia County. Brewton is the County Seat of Escambia County. The mayor of Atmore is Jim Staff, and his office is located in City Hall, which is on East Louisville Avenue. The population of Atmore is 10,194 people.

An inmate may have two visitors per day, but family members only.

The larger police department in the area is the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, which is also located in Brewton, and the sheriff is Grover Smith. There are multiple divisions within the sheriff’s office, including administration, animal control, the civil division, the drug task force, jail, patrol, investigations, and the sex offender division. The Escambia County Jail is also on the premises of the sheriff’s office.
