County History:   

Randolph county was established in 1832, shortly after all of the Creek Indians has been pushed west.  It was named for Virginian Congressman, John Randolph and has its county seat in Wedowee.  It wasn’t until 2012 that voters decided to repeal county prohibition and the area became officially wet.  Wedowee was named after one of the Creek Tribal Chiefs, whose village was very near the town, Chief Wahwahnee.  The county has a rich agricultural history.
