The Autauga Metro Jail houses individuals arrested by local police departments within the county, including the agencies operating in the City of Prattville and the Town of Autaugaville. The facility processes around 3400 inmates each year with an average population of 160. The Jail Warden, Captain Larry Nixon, oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility. 39 staff members help ensure that it remains a safe and secure environment for both inmates and visitors.

The Autauga Metro Jail maintains an online database of all inmates currently housed in the facility. Each inmate’s profile contains his/her photo, complete name, booking #, age, gender, race, address, arresting agency, booking date, bond amount, and charges.
Each inmate at the Autauga Metro Jail is allowed one 30-minute visit during their scheduled visitation hours. Each visit can have a maximum of 4 visitors. Visitors need to be on the inmate’s visitation list as well as possess a valid picture ID with their birth date in order to visit. The visitation schedule is as follows:

The duties of the deputy include handling official documents and information, ensuring in-jail warrants are served, and providing security and operational support for the County Jail.
