Lowndes County Jail Inmates
The Corrections Division of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the county jail. The John Hulett Detention Facility is the only detention facility in the county. It houses all inmates arrested by the Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies.

Inmates at the John Hulett Detention Facility are allowed visitation every Thursday and Sunday. Each inmate is permitted one hour visitation per day which translates to three 20-minute visits. Only one visitor is allowed for each inmate. All visitors must be included on the inmate’s visitor list.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the Deputy Sheriff. Candidates must be 21 years of age, a US citizen, have a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid driver’s license, and have no felony convictions. All applicants will need to pass oral interviews, a background check, and drug screening.
