Elmore County Sheriff Inmates

The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office provides primary law enforcement services to the unincorporated areas in the county as well as assists cities and towns in the area when needed. The department is comprised of several divisions including Patrol, Investigation, Court Services, and Support Services. The Patrol Division is responsible for handling all calls for service and for conducting patrols around the various areas in the county. The Investigative Division handles follow-up investigations on reports filed by the Patrol Division. The Civil Division is responsible for serving civil papers that have been processed by the Elmore County Circuit Clerk’s Office. The head of the ECSO is Sheriff Bill Franklin.

Elmore County can be found in the central region of Alabama. It was named after General John A. Elmore who served in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The county seat is Wetumpka while the largest city in the area is Millbrook. According to the 2010 census, 79,303 people reside in this county. Its total area measures 657 square miles. The adjacent counties are Coosa County (north), Tallapoosa County (northeast), Macon County (southeast), Montgomery County (south), Autauga County (west), and Chilton County (northwest).
