The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting the life and property of the citizens of the county. The head of the LCSO is Sheriff Mike Blakely. Limestone County Overview

Limestone County can be found in the northern region of Alabama. It was named after a local stream called Limestone Creek. The county seat is Athens which is also the largest city in the area. Based on the 2010 census, there are 82,782 people residing in the county. The total area measures 607 square miles. The adjacent counties are Giles County (TN) in the north, Lincoln County (TN) in the northeast, Madison County in the east, Morgan County in the southeast, Lawrence County in the southwest, and Lauderdale County in the west.
